Mrs. Walker's Weekly
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am very excited to have your child as one of my fabulous fourth grade students this school year! I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child. This year will be packed full of learning experiences and fun adventures that no one will want to miss out on! I believe that teacher-parent communication is extremely important and I encourage you to contact me with any and all questions or concerns. I will be available by e-mail or school phone, or please feel free to send a note back in your child’s weekly folder. You can also look for this information on this teacher web page. I will update it weekly!
In order to promote academic success and a good classroom-learning environment, this year all students will be expected to abide by a few main classroom rules. I would like for you to be familiar with our classroom rules as well as the school rules and policies. Our main classroom rules are 1) Show everyone respect 2) Always be prepared 3) Have a positive attitude and do your best! Our remaining two or three rules will be decided upon as a class so that the student’s take pride and ownership in them. Be looking for the updated list in the first week take-home folder! Other school rules and policies can be found on the website, or in the school handbook that I will send home with the students on the first day of class.
I have very high expectations for the academic school year, and I am devoted to helping your child succeed! I believe that all students are unique and capable of learning. I will send home graded student work on Wednesdays in a folder that should be signed and returned the next day. I want you to always be aware of your child’s progress, so there are no surprises.
I strongly encourage all parents/guardians to get involved this year! There are a variety of opportunities to help and I hope that you will take advantage of them. There is a place for everyone! Attached you will find an information page that I would like to be filled out and returned as soon as possible. Having this information will help me to build our classroom community and get you involved in your child’s classroom experience! Once again, I am thrilled to be working with your child this year and I cannot wait to see all of the amazing achievements this year brings!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Walker
